Nikon 1 J2

DSLR's are very common nowadays, and the only setback for them is that they are way freaking heavy. But how about having a slim digital camera combined with the lens equipped on DSLR's?

NIKON 1 J2

I'm not sure about other brands but between Nikon and Canon, I think Nikon has produced the line of "hybrid" cameras first.

So, what's so appealing about the Nikon 1 J2? The first thing that captures my attention is that it offers colors! There are 6 different colors and every color is just as lovely.

The first thing why the Nikon 1 J2 is good, is because it is light. Definitely lighter than my 60D. Gone be the backaches or neck pains! And don't forget, it is also way smaller and more compact. I have always wanted a smaller camera, but I can never seem to adjust back to a normal digital zoom after using my 60D. But this, it has the same kind of lens! :D *happy* Gone be the crappy digital zoom! If I had a camera like this, it would be something that I would carry with me all the time, and not just during special events (like my 60D). This way, I won't miss out anything that is photo-worthy.

It has this function called a "contrast-detect AF" which I feel is quite good. Apparently, it helps you to take pictures of subjects in poorly lit places without using flash. From experience, flash is a definite no-no to light up subjects in dark places. So in order to compensate for the lack of light, you'll have to compromise on the picture having more "noise" or/and have a blurry picture. Unless you have a tripod, it is hard to take pictures in poorly lit places especially when the conditions are to the extreme (like it being super dark). So, this feature is a plus point. :D

Next, it has a "smart photo selector." This helps you to choose the best picture out of all the picture the camera "secretly" takes. This can be very useful because even when you have a faster shutter speed, it is possible to still have a blurry picture. This is definitely good for portraits, and especially so if one keeps blinking a lot during a photo-taking.

The next thing that interests me is that with the Nikon 1 J2, you are able to take pictures while filming, and NOT INTERRUPT your shoot with any pauses or sounds. My 60D definitely isn't able to do that. When I try to take a picture while filming, the shutter sound is loud, and during playback, the video pauses and skips frames at the same time I took a picture. So stupid right? Good innovation with this feature.

There is also a mini instagram-like photo editor. There are cool stuffs especially the miniature effect and selective color. Nice!

Okay, and now the most important thing that makes the Nikon 1 J2 so good, is that it boasts of having a dust shield which prevents dust from entering EVEN when you remove your lens. I think my lens now has lots of dust INSIDE and sometimes the internal of my 60D gets dusty and it affects my pictures. Dust is the number one thing that photographers detest, especially dust that cannot be removed.

After all the hype for this (sorta) new camera, it's time for me to pick my favorite color. :D It was really hard for me because I'm so indecisive, especially when it comes to colors. The red was very tempting but no, it's best to stick to basics. So I chose white.

Sweet!

With features like soft focus and smart photo selector, self portraits become prettier. Also, because the design is so lovely and chic (and yet so wonderfully powerful internally), it is definitely a fashion icon (like an accessory). You can have outfits that match with your "accessory." Like these:

They're all white! :D Imagine wearing orange to match an orange Nikon 1 J2!

Now, the only thing lacking in those pictures is the camera itself! Only then will it look like some kind of advertisement. :D

I think you can even jazz up the Nikon 1 J2 by using a lens of a different color. CUTE!

If you didn't believe me about the features, you can go verify it yourself here (and probably fall in love with the Nikon 1 J2 at the same time).

Till then, be unhappy with what you have and buy new things *hint hint* (just kidding).
