I had a dental appointment today. I suppose a lot of people are kinda afraid of the dentist because it'll hurt a lot but if you take good care of your teeth, there shouldn't be any problem. I had to go on my own there because mummy had to work. ): And when I reached there, I didn't know how the system works so I asked the old receptionist guy for help and he's like "You've got a number? Don't have? Go register first!"
How would I know! I thought I had to register at the counter. Stupid old grouchy andropausal man. Bully me only, because I'm the only child whose parent didn't accompany. Hmmph! So I had to wait quite a while, what to do when it's a government thing, moreover it's free. :/
I was kinda nervous though because I didn't like the smell when I went in. There were like a lot of dental booths, like the ones at school only many times more.
I had actually expected a middle-aged female dentist but it turned out to be a young male dentist! That's a first, like seriously. (And he was kinda cute too. :D)
When he had a check on my teeth, the first question he asked was, "You had braces done before right?" Why do people think that? I suppose I have kinda straight teeth, but it can be straighter! (perfectionist alert) And he also said that my teeth were clean, and presumed I flossed daily (HAHS!) Though I really wished mine were pearly white though it seems impossible to achieve no matter how clean I brush my teeth. :/
So he just had to clean up tartar and had some polishing done. They felt cleaner afterwards but the taste is just simple revolting, and mints don't help either! I had a tummyache after, though it
might not be related to the dental cleaning.
If only life were like that, where people actually complimented you, even if it's not direct (like my example above). I mean, if you complimented someone, "Hey, you have a really beautiful smile!", I'm sure he/she will be more confident when smiling and would have no obligations to smile more often.
But of course you should not let it get to your head and overwhelm you. Bad example:
[scene: funeral]
Woman (crying): "He was a good man, why did he have to die so such a painful death?"
You: *smiling as wide as ever*
Woman: *sniffs* "Why are you freaking smiling at such a sad occasion, are you mad?!"
You: "Like my smile? :D Everyone tells me it's beautiful. (: You should smile too! You have a pretty mouth, come on, give me a smile. :D"
Woman: *bawls her eyes out and runs away*
You: *walks to the next person to traumatize with your smile*
That was just a dramatic crazy scene in my head, *chuckles* but seriously *serious-looking*, there's a time and place for everything, even if it's *ahem* showing off your smile.
Oh well.
