I don't really see why it's impossible. In my opinion, I would actually love to have a guy best friend. A guy friend and a girl friend are really 2 opposites. There's this different feeling when you hang out with parties of different sexes. I really don't know why. :/ I really really think that being best friends with a guy whom you like for example, is a million gazillion times better than having a relationship with him. With a best friend, you can just be yourself and still be considerate and think about his/her feelings. But like with a boyfriend/girlfriend, no matter what, you'll still try to be perfect for him/her. I don't believe in perfection at all (which contradicts myself of being a perfectionist).

And the best part of being best friends is that,

Well, at least forever in terms of human life span. I mean, you don't have to worry if you're going to "break" (meaning not being friends). You can break up with your boyfriend/girlfriend, you can divorce your husband/wife, but you cannot break a friendship. Maybe the only thing that might separate 2 best friends would be just being drifted away from each other.

Isn't that AWESOME? ^^

It gives you such assurance that this best friend of yours would be with you in your walk in life. (:

But of course, there would be humanly things that might come in between like family, work, etcetera etcetera. :D BUT, these things would just be a test of the two's friendship. How cool is that? XD

It's like knowing that there's something bonding the 2 of you and that this bond isn't as fragile as a thing called love. You can don't love a person anymore, whoops, the 2 break up.

I think I can go on and on and on. So that's another wish of mine, that I can have a guy best friend. :D La di dum.

Anyway, just to let you know what the author's "view" was, the 2 best friends did love each other, but it was more of a brotherly-sisterly love and they continued being best friends after struggling with the sexual bit. How nice right? ^^
